Class 3 General Information

The members of staff in our classroom are:

Mrs Kilpin - Teacher (Monday to Thursday)

Mrs Yates - Teacher (Friday)

Mrs Liddicott - Teaching Assistant

Miss West - Teaching Assistant

Mr Waters - Teaching Assistant

Mrs Eagles - Teaching Assistant

Miss Donnelly - Teaching Assistant

We are a mixed class of year 5 and 6 children.   Being the oldest in the school, our class have responsibilities and jobs that we can choose to be involved in, such as:

  • helping the younger children at lunchtime
  • helping members of staff with assembly
  • collecting house points
  • pupil-led groups
  • shed monitors, as well as many other jobs.

In our class, we have different reward systems to motivate us in our learning and with our behaviour. We have Praise Points, which we can collect for good work or areas of learning where we have put in lots of effort. These accumulate and we can then receive rewards.

Our teacher loves to read and encourages us to do the same. We are following the accelerated readers scheme, where we get to read a range of books, earn points and collect rewards.

Across our school, we also try to earn house points. The winning team is invited to a party.

As we are nearing the end of our time at primary school, we have lots to learn. At the top of this page you will find links to ‘help with reading’, spelling lists and about the maths website we have access to, along with information on some of the things we have done during the year. Some of the year 6s sometimes receive a little more support as they head towards their SATs (statutory assessments) in May.

During the school year, year 5 go on a trip to France and year 6 visit London. We meet children from our federation school, Stoke Climsland, who we might end up going to secondary school with after finishing primary school.

We hope you find everything you need to know about our class on these pages. If you wish to know more, please arrange to meet Mrs Kilpin through Mrs Hardy in the office.

Hope to see you soon!
