On Tuesday 17th July, we said goodbye to our Year 6 children. The day started off with a special assembly to show parents and the rest of the school the film they had been working on for the past month. Each Year 6 child was then presented with a leavers hoodie, a photo of their year group, a DVD of their film and photos from their London trip in April. Parents, grandparents and carers then stayed for tea and cake and a chat.

The children then headed to Harrowbarrow park where they could let off steam and enjoy a relaxing picnic. Food eaten and drinks drunk our next stop was Gullworthy, for outdoor Laser combat.

The children and parents had a great time running through the woods playing soldiers. The teams were evenly matched and at the end of a fun packed afternoon the two teams were tied. Tired, hungry and thirsty our next stop was the Tamar Inn in Calstock to refuel and talk about the great day we had all had. Finally we all headed home for a well earned rest.

A huge thank you to the parents and staff who helped organise this event for our leavers. To those who helped transport the children throughout the day, who organised food and drink, hoodies and to all the adults who took on the challenge of laser combat.

All of us at Calstock hope your move to Secondary School goes well, pop back and see us and let us know how you are getting on.
