Dear Parents and Carers,

Due to the uncertainty of the school’s situation with regard to Covid-19, we are planning a contingency to enable children to continue with some learning while at home.

The school website will be the key area for you to access appropriate resources for your child. We have added a new tab on the website homepage entitled ‘Home Learning’. Once you have clicked on this tab a drop down menu will appear with a section for each year group. Your child’s page will contain an overview from class teachers, links to appropriate web based resources, resources that you will be able to download and the class teacher’s email. Teachers will be working within the hours of the normal working day during this period and will be able to answer any questions or provide clarity to activities, if necessary. Teachers will also update their pages as and when appropriate.

This is a new situation for all of us and we are keen to work with you to ensure that this unprecedented situation causes as little disruption to your child’s education as possible. It may take us a little while to upload and populate the website with appropriate resources, so please bear with us during this time.

In addition to the online resources, you should also have received a pack with a selection of printed activities and resources provided by your child’s class teacher to get you started. Again, if you have any queries or concerns regarding these activities please use the class teacher’s email to seek advice and support. If you require a conversation with your child’s teacher please email them and they will get back to you at the earliest opportunity.

Many online providers have allowed free access to resources for parents during this time and your class teacher letter will signpost you to these sites.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the school calculation policy is on the website. This will enable you to see the way we teach various maths calculations in school.

Thank you for your continued support

John Pengelly
